Retired & offshore
For teachers or lecturers thinking about retiring, it is well worth considering taking up examining, as it brings many advantages at a time which some may experience as isolating.
Examining in retirement provides an ideal opportunity to continue to make a contribution to young people's learning while earning some extra income. It enables you to develop a professional network and keep in touch with your field and changes to your subject. It also allows you to keep abreast of the substantially changing learning environment for 14-19 year olds.
Teachers living overseas are also welcome to apply – you no longer have to be a UK resident.
All new examiners receive excellent training and support.
