Who can do it?
We're looking for professional, intelligent people who care about students and enjoy marking to join one of our teams as an assistant examiner, moderator or marker.
We hope you will consider applying to us if you are:
- currently teaching or lecturing
- recently retired from teaching
- formerly a teacher, now working in another profession
- a non-teacher with particular relevant subject knowledge appropriate for examining
- a PGCE student or graduate (please note that there are limited opportunities available to PGCE students)
- on maternity/paternity leave, or while taking a career break.
Our teams of examiners, moderators and markers come from a range of backgrounds.
Marking and moderating is highly skilled work and requires you to work fast and
accurately, be confident in your subject, be a good organiser, have an open minded approach to
reading students' work and have good analytical skills. Ideally, you
should have teaching experience both at the level you want to examine, and at a higher level.
To find out the specific skills and experience you need for the different awarding bodies, visit their websites in the contact us section.
