What's involved?

Examiners will be sent full instructions about their role in the team, the mark scheme and relevant administrative documents. Within days of the examinations being taken, you will receive your allocated scripts.

As a new assessor, you will attend either a standardisation meeting (examiners and moderators) or a training meeting (markers) and possibly additional training or briefing sessions.

The standardisation meeting with senior examiners, moderators and markers is a crucial part of your preparation and introduces you to the support network available throughout the process.

The meeting takes place shortly after the examination or test. It aims to ensure that you understand the marking procedures, and to arrive at a final agreed mark scheme that all examiners, moderators and markers understand and apply consistently.
